Answering the big question: Why Go Solar?
Answering the big question: Why Go Solar?
With our ever changing society one thing stays the same. People want to find a safe alternative energy solution that helps them not only go green but save green too!
SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT
Solar energy helps the environment by doing more than reducing carbon emission, it reduces water pollutants, air pollution and reduces hazardous waste. This is because solar power comes from pure clean energy derived from the sun. It helps eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels reducing the amount of air pollution that is one cause of the global climate change and can be linked to water pollution simply through the “water cycle” as depicted on the left from an image found on freepic.com.
So just how much of an impact can your household make on the environment? Every kilowatt installed lowers your home's carbon footprint by over 3,000 pounds annually. The average household uses approximately 10,000 kilowatt hours so in fact you are looking to lower your carbon emissions by 30,0000 pounds of CO2 every year!
The Push for an Electric Society
This year GM and Ford announced that they would be producing all electric vehicles by 2035 and they have already began those processes. What does that mean for you and your family? We have already began experiencing what it is to have an electric infrastructure that is strained, I will use Texas as a perfect example as they have had brown outs plain and simply because there is just not enough electricity being produces and this will only add to the problem. As mentioned in the previous paragraph the average household uses approximately 10,000 kilowatt hours a year in electricity. The average household has 2 cars, and the average electric cars yearly usage is 4,000 kilowatt hours which for an average household means almost doubling their current usage! What do you think will happen to those in rural areas? Do you think big electric will spend the money to fix the infrastructure where there is a fraction of people living in comparison to the larger cities? Now is the time to take control of your future and turn to solar energy while the government is helping to pay for it!!
Save Money
Saving money is even more important today than ever. With so many out of work due to covid 19 the price of energy bills still increasing solar energy provides a cheaper alternative, by reducing and in some cases eliminating your utility bill. Home owners, farmers, business, non profit organizations, can take advantage of government incentives, that can prove to be very lucrative. For instance a homeowner in Iowa receives 13% tax credit incentive from purchase. Going solar also increases your property value by approximately $15,000 and for Iowans their solar power system is exempt from their property tax! On top of this the Federal Government gives a 26% income tax credit on the purchase and there is no sales tax on the equipment. Another Kick back from going solar is that you will be producing your own energy and in most instances any unused energy can be bucketed for later use or even sold back to the utility company. For business owners there is the M.A.C.R.S program which gives an amazing tax write off for businesses that qualify. Essentially making this the best investment with possibly the greatest gain, but you better hurry because 2021 may be the last year for some of these incentives!
